Looking ahead to 2017 and beyond, here are some of the best water toys you should get your hands on this year.

ScubaPro Mantis 2 Dive Computer

This dive computer was released last year and is one of the first to use biometrics, giving a bespoke reading based on the wearer’s health and diving conditions. If this wrist computer isn’t awesome enough, it’s also suitable for novice divers rights up to rebreather level so it will see you through your scuba life. The smart wireless technology uses a heartrate monitor to figure out exactly how much gas you have left at each depth, by measuring breathing rate, depth and skin temperature. If you’re an enthusiastic diver then you will absolutely love this gadget and it’s well worth the investment.

When it comes to playing around below the surface, nothing gives the same adrenaline rush as the Subwing. It’s quite simple to set up and it’s not a complicated water sport so you don’t need loads of practice to enjoy it. The device is attached to the back of the boat and you get towed along, giving the feeling of flying underwater. Once you get the hang of it you can even do flips and tricks! Check out the Subwings.

GoPro Hero 5

If you haven’t yet tried out the GoPro range of waterproof video cameras, where have you been?! The tiny cameras are perfect for capturing your underwater adventures. The latest model, Hero 5, boasts amazing 4K video quality and is the recommended camera for divers. You can get loads of accessories and mounts which allows the camera to capture great films underwater, including floating mounts and blue water dive filters. The camera itself is waterproof to 33 feet (10 metres) but you can also buy housing to allow the camera to go deeper.
