Top 5 Ways to see Wildlife Underwater

Exploring the underwater world is a fascinating and eye opening experience. It’s also incredibly addictive! Once you’ve seen the incredible coloured corals and wildlife of the deep blue sea, you also want to explore further. The underwater world has fascinated humans since time began, and we have now designed and engineered a range of ways to venture into the ocean’s depths. But which is the best way?

It depends how deep you want to go – sometimes just floating on the surface of the water can reveal an abundance of creatures. There are plenty of ways to view underwater wildlife, some more adrenaline fuelled than others. Here’s our top five favourite ways to spot marine life in the water.

  1. Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is an incredible experience – even if you don’t see any animals, you can actually breathe underwater! You can dive all over the world, depending on what sea creatures you’d like to spot. There are various levels for beginners and more advanced divers who have completed their PADI course. Scuba diving is a fun activity which pretty much guarantees wildlife views, depending on location. Dive with dolphins and sharks or delve into lost shipwrecks – the choice is yours.

  1. Subwing

Instead of just looking at the mystical creatures that live underwater, why don’t you become one? The Subwing boat toy allows you to get towed along behind a boat with your body in the water, so you can be part of the underwater world around you. It’s an exhilarating ride, and who knows what you’ll spot chasing the boat alongside you!

  1. Glass Bottom Boat

For a more relaxed viewing point, a glass bottom boat is ideal. You can stay dry and take a look at everything going on underneath the boat to the ocean floor. In clear waters, glass bottom boats are a brilliant way to explore marine life, but you might only see the smallest creatures.

  1. Submarine

Traditional submarines may be designed as weapons, but these days you can board a submarine to encounter underwater wildlife. Tourist submarines have been built with plenty of windows for exploring the depths of the ocean in panoramic view. Many submarines even have cameras which project the views on the inside to passengers. This is another way to venture into the depths while staying dry!

  1. Snorkelling

Snorkelling is a really basic and fun way to see wildlife in shallow waters. Not all the greatest creatures stay at the bottom of the ocean, some like to come right in shore and are easy to spot. Snorkelling is fun for all ages and it’s probably one of the cheapest ways to see some underwater wildlife.
